Ann Elizabeth Cook's Obituary
Ann Elizabeth Cook, age 91, of Port Huron, passed away January 20, 2026. She was born September 4, 1934 in South Hill, Virginia to the late John and Alice Long.
On October 3, 1954 Ann married Ronald Cook and they enjoyed 71 years of marriage.
Ann retired from Kroger following over 30 years of service. She was a dedicated employee and loved her job. When not working her family fondly remembers camping trips to Ipperwash. She also was a wonderful cook and loved frying chicken and fresh fish. Ann also was handy with many crafts. The summer months you could find Ann working in her flower garden and helping out in the vegetable garden. Following retirement Ann and Ron enjoyed wintering in Apache Junction, Arizona for many years with their friends.
Ann is survived by her husband, Ronald Cook; children, Ron (Sue) Cook, Randy (Donna) Cook, Pat (Nelson) Roe, John (Courtney) Cook and Kim (Tom) Askew; daughter in law, Patty Cook; grandchildren, Christopher (Laura) Cook, Nicole (Dave) Tharrett, John (Carrie) Cook, Sarah (Doug) David, Jeff (Alana) Cook, Heather (Mike) Woodman, Joe (Erica) Cook-Shugart, Jessica Roe (Aaron Russell), Danielle (Ben) Fergin, Lindsey (Saul) Aguilera, Magen Askew, Amanda (Tyler) Rewa, Melanie Askew, Rachael (Mike) Ross, Emily (Paul) Miller and Jeremy (Caiti) Cook; 34 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; siblings, Johnny Long, Henry Long and Virginia Overy; sister in law, Judith Cook and many nieces and nephews.
Ann is predeceased by her son, Bob Cook, great grandson, Dakota Weiss and brothers, Wilson and Ira Long.
Honoring Ann’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will be held.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the ALS Association.
