Alvoy L. Westrick's Obituary
Alvoy L. Westrick, age 84, of Marine City, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2021. He was born June 1, 1937 to the late Raymond and Mary Westrick.
On October 24, 1959 Alvoy married Marilyn Zweng at Holy Cross Catholic Church. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage before her passing on November 16, 2018. Alvoy was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #856, Marine City. He was a proud union carpenter for over 60 years. Alvoy enjoyed farming and hunting and cherished his time spent with his grandchildren. His family will remember Alvoy as a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Alvoy is survived by his sons, Duane (Kim) Westrick and Craig (Beth) Westrick; grandchildren, Brian (Emily) Westrick, Brent Westrick, Owen and Evan Westrick; siblings, Joyce (Jerry) Cooley, Kenny Westrick, Katie (Harold) Westrick, Vern (Margie) Westrick, Alfred (Joyce) Westrick and Jack (Alyce) Westrick; In-laws, Anne, Bernice, Louise and Gail Westrick, Bill and Betty Zweng and Mary Lou Zweng.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; brothers, Raymond, Leo, Lloyd, Edward, Marvin and Ervin Westrick; In-laws, Anne, Linda, Barb and Linda Westrick and Bob Zweng.
A funeral mass will be Monday October 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, OLR Parish, Marine City. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours are Saturday 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. A rosary will be said Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m.
