Mr. Alvin B. Westrick's Obituary
Alvin B. Westrick, age 88, of Marysville, died November 22, 2012. He was born January 6, 1924 in St. Clair. Alvin married Marie Smith January 25, 1946, she preceded him in death May 20, 1991. He later married Helen Nowicki January 27, 1992.
Alvin retired from Diamond Crystal Salt Co. in 1984. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Clair Council #2251 for 65 years. In his earlier years Alvin enjoyed calling square dance for various events.
He is survived by his wife Helen Westrick, children; Carolyn (David) Riedel, Herbert Westrick and Janet (Gregory) Lachon, step children; David (Gert) Nowicki and Thomas Nowicki, grandchildren; Lisa (Vern) Richardson, Jill (John) Stockwell, Steven Westrick and Cindy Westrick, eight great grandchildren, two step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren, sister; Ethel Niebauer, sister in law; Mae Simmons and brother in law; Herb Uppleger and many nieces, nephews and sisters in law.
He was preceded in death by brothers; Ambrose, Raymond, Ervin, Harvey and Edmund Westrick, sisters; Ella Zimmer and Mildred Niebauer.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visiting hours are Sunday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home and Monday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to mass. A rosary will be said Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice or the wishes of the family.
