Aloysius Peter Schweihofer's Obituary
Aloysius Peter Schweihofer II (“Pete”) went to be with our Lord on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the age of 91. Pete grew up on his family’s farm as the third child of eleven children born to the late Aloysius and Dorothy (West) Schweihofer. At a young age, he began serving our country in the Merchant Marines, transferred into the Army and then the Air Force. He retired from his military career after 30 years and returned to his hometown and family farm, where he was employed with the East China School District. He was a devoted member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where he served in the Knights of Columbus and participated in many other ministries.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Anna Rosa, his children: Dorothy (Stephen) Gilliland, Angela (Mike) Young, Monica Myers, Roseanna (Ron) Roberts, Cindy (Gerry) Corbat, Tim (Alice) Schweihofer, Mary Boese, Theresa (Mark) Ranshaw, Pete (Cathy) Schweihofer, Paula (Bill) Mazzola, 39 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, two Great Great Grandchildren, six siblings as well as many nieces and nephews. Pete is preceded in death by four of his siblings and his grandson.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm (Rosary at 7 pm) on Wednesday at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Funeral mass will be held at 1 pm Thursday, October 19, 2017 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Cemetery or St. Clair American Legion.
