Alfred C. Miller's Obituary
Alfred C. Miller age 89 of St. Clair died Sunday, May 15, 2011. Alfred was born April 23, 1922 in Kerr’s Creek, Virginia. After military service during World War II, he married Evelyn M. Ford on his birthday in 1946.
Al worked for Michigan Bell Telephone for 43 years retiring in 1983. He was an active member and officer at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Detroit for over 30 years, an active member and officer in Kiwanis for over 40 years, and most recently attended Colonial Woods Missionary Church, P. H. He also was a member of Veterans Car Club.
He loved the Lord, his family, restoring his grandmother’s ‘35 Ford, and writing 3 historical books.
Alfred is survived by his loving wife Evelyn, his son Robert G Miller, daughter Joan M (David) Watt, 8 grand and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Patricia Hall and Pauline Tolley and a brother Richard Miller, all of Virginia. He was preceded in death by a son Thomas A. Miller in 2001.
Visitation Wednesday in the Young Funeral Home, China Twp from 4-8 PM with funeral service Thursday at 11 AM In the funeral home. Burial will take place Monday in Virginia, with memorials to Colonial Woods Missionary Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
