Mr. Albert W. Kammer Jr.'s Obituary
Albert W. Kammer Jr., age 90, of Marine City, died April 20, 2014. Albert was born December 20, 1923 in Detroit to the late Albert Sr. and Sophia Kammer. Albert served his country faithfully during World War II as an Army Sergeant. While on furlough from overseas he married Lucille Thueme on August 4, 1945. She preceded him in death on June 18, 2012.
He worked for General Motors at the Tech Center in the Research Dept. for 33 years.
Albert was an active member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church and the St. Martin’s Pilots Club. He had a great love of woodworking and also was an avid euchre player.
He is survived by a son, Gary (Deborah) Kammer, daughter, Sandra S. Kammer, grandchildren, Stephanie Kammer and Joshua (Leah) Kammer and great granddaughter, Kaydence.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Russell and Kenneth Kammer and sisters, Esther Seilbinder and Ethel May.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday April 25th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, Marine City. Interment with military honors will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Marine City. Visiting hours are Thursday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Friday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to services.
