Virginia M. "Jean'e" Tomchak's Obituary
Virginia Mary "Jean'e" Tomchak, age 83, of East China Twp., died December 23, 2011. She was born September 30, 1928 in Luzerne, Pennsylvania to the late Michael and Victoria Mazur. On November 17, 1951 Virginia married Stanley Tomchak. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1981. Viriginia is retired from the Archdiocese of Detroit.
She is the beloved mother of Nora Marquez and Karin (Robert) Pokriefka, loving grandmother of Amelia and Lillian Marquez, Philip (Stacy) Pokriefka and Benjamin (Kristin) Pokriefka and great grandmother of Isiah Marquez. She is also survived by sisters; Doris (Jim) Buza and Irene Switras and will be dearly missed by her friends at Harbor Oaks and Medilodge of St. Clair.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 28th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair. Interment will follow in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
Visiting hours are Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Wednesday 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the church prior to mass. A rosary will be said Tuesday at 8 p.m.
