Bernard "Bernie" Westrick

Bernard “Bernie” Westrick, age 86, of Kimball Twp., passed away November 29, 2021. He was born July 29, 1935 in St. Clair Twp., the eldest son of the late Norman and Clara Westrick. Bernie assumed many roles in life, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, farmer, machinist, entrepreneur and welder. He helped establish the Pine River Sportsman Club and was a longtime member of the NRA. Bernie owned and operated Westrick’s Camper Sales and Westrick Machine Shop. He was also a 20 year employee of Mueller Brass. Bernie was a Deputy Sheriff for 18 years and constable for St. Clair Twp. for many years. Among the many things Bernie enjoyed were traveling, snowmobiling, annual family reunions, fishing, hunting, boating and camping. He is survived by his children; Sandra (David) Marsh, Phillip (Tammy) Westrick, Steven (Bridget) Westrick, Curt Westrick and Keith (Stacey) Westrick; 16 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; siblings, Arlene (Tom) Askew, Anne (Mike) Delor, Joseph (Jeanne) Westrick and Rose (Steve) Anderson and many nieces and nephews. Also special thanks to Leah Heidenrich for all the special care and assistance given to Bernie. Bernie was predeceased by his brothers, Charles N. Westrick and Daniel J. Westrick and step son, Wayne Macy. Visitation will be Thursday December 2nd from 1:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
